The project assumes bilateral art exchange between Poland and Iceland. The goals are to come into partnership between polish and Icelandic visual artists and craft men. Through the common meeting, workshops, discussions, we want to exchange art experiences and
inspirations sourced in different for every nation cultural background, and as a result to open the new ground for art creativity.

Nine Icelandic artists from handicraft centre Punkturinn that work under the auspices of Social Welfare and Human rights Department of city of Akureyri and ten polish artists from The Academy Lucznica ngo will visit other partner’s country.
In may 2010 Icelandic artists will go to Poland. During the ten days visit they will present their art works, run taster workshops for children and visit exhibitions of International Tapestry Triennale in Lodz and Krakow. Polish artists will organize for them workshops of stained-glass, fusing, hand made paper and traditional weaving in studios in their training centre in Lucznica.

During the visit of polish artists to Iceland, they will run exhibition of Aleksandra Herisz batiks and Zofia Bisiak hand made papers. They will participate in photo open-air workshop and handicraft workshops organized by Icelandic partners in the Punkturinn centre. They will also run the polish traditional plaiting workshop for children from Akureyri.
During both visits artists will present their art and educational accomplishment and exchange their art experiences. All events will be documented and presented on project’s website and in a catalogue.
